Rule 19
Duties, Duties and Powers of Associate Advocate or District Attorney of the District Public Prosecutor's Office

(1) The duties, duties and rights of the District Public Prosecutor's Office or the District Attorney's Office shall be as follows:-
(a) In cases where the Government of Nepal is the plaintiff, the petitioner or the authorized officer shall investigate and take the necessary action and decide whether or not to proceed with the case in accordance with the delegation of authority from the Attorney-General, and if the decision is made to proceed with the case, to file the case in the relevant court,
(b) Advocating and defending arguments in Adda court on behalf of the Government of Nepal or employees of the Government of Nepal in cases where the Government of Nepal is the plaintiff or in which the rights, interests or concerns of the Government of Nepal are vested,
(c) To advise on any legal question asked by the head of the office of the Government of Nepal in the concerned district,
(d) To take necessary actions related to appeal, application or not on the decision or order made by the authority hearing the case or the relevant court,
(e) To take action in accordance with the powers vested in the head of the office in accordance with the prevailing law.
(2) According to this rule, some of the administrative powers vested in the Associate Attorney or the District Attorney may be exercised by other public prosecutors of the District Public Prosecutor's Office as delegated by him.
